Choirs For Ecocide Law is a choral project whose principal purpose is to raise awareness of the addition of an international Ecocide Law to the Treaty of Rome alongside previously enacted international criminal codes. The Choirs for Ecocide Law gala concert offers singers the opportunity to engage in environmental activism in their own communities, through their own choir.
The concert consists of 15 songs in popular style, written for this purpose. The lyrics of the songs represent diverse voices and emotions around ecocide and show how we all are connected around the globe. The core message of the concert is to provide a voice for a positive opportunity to nurture our common planet.
In co-operation with: Stop Ecocide International, Ecocide Law Finland, European Choral Association, ChoirMate, Pirkanmaa Choir Centre
The concert is supported by Finnish Cultural Foundation. The patron of the project is President Tarja Halonen.
Choirs for Ecocide Law at Choir Forum on Thursday, 12 June, at 13.00.
